We spent the next 20 minutes showing each other our tricks of how we taught ourselves to do these difficult physical things that we make look seemingly easy.
I left the gym feeling Incredibly proud. Bc I got a chance to show someone else something that I worked to master AND he taught me something that he worked hard to master.
Got me thinking...
How easily I could ask someone how they Physically do something. Walk up to a stranger & say: "Hey, can you teach me that?!" But yet with emotional gifts, I never ask for guidance from those that Mastered the skills I don't possess!
Isn't that Silly.
How much more important is our Emotional State then Anything else??? And that is where I choose to be shy and proud?!?
Think of this:
You see Gail, your girlfriend & you Love her dress. You ask her where she bought it. & You will go to That store to buy it. Gail also makes the best strudel. You will ask her for the recipe. & You will follow her recipe to the T and bake her strudel. Gail Swears by her gyno. & You will try her doctor.
Gail like Every One of us has a Super Power. She possesses the quality of admirable patience. She has an ease of mastering stressful situations.
This is NOT your Super Power.
What is the harm in asking her for some insights? "Hey Gail, I love how ZEN you are during stressful situations. How do you keep your Cool?"
Whatever her answer, you now have a Tip towards becoming a whole emotionally stable Super Hero!
I betcha Gail will ask you for tips on your Super Hero qualities too!
Start the Convo.
We all have these skill sets that we can help each other with.
Today, think of something you are working on: Being more patient with morons (lol), saying what you really mean ;), boundaries, forgiveness... & think of someone you know who is a Master at this skill. Someone who innately makes it look Easy! Think about how you will approach the subject with your new teacher. & Then simply ask Em!
