PUNK ROCK SELF-HELP

Broken Heart

Thursday, October 25, 2012

I have a friend who told me recently that he broke his toe long ago & the chipped piece of the bone is floating around in his foot. Every once in a while he can feel it like a phantom pang of pain.

I have a broken heart.

My heart was broken long ago & the chipped piece of my heart is floating around inside. Every once in a while I can feel the broken piece of my heart like a phantom pang of pain.

Lately, I feel the chipped piece of my heart floating around inside of me. The pangs of hurts from a couple years ago have been weighing me down lately. Sadly, since my broken heart is floating it is hard to locate exactly where it broke, how it happened, or when it happened, and if I could have done things differently to prevent the brokenness.

So...

Like my friend, I hop around every once in a while when I feel the pangs of pain.

I am working through this past pains. But have decided to acknowledge it first. Here now :)

Then once I acknowledge the Hurt of past years my hope is to try to repair my heart!

Today, be honest with yourself: is your heart whole? Take the time to think about if you have been burned or detached or god awfully disappointed from past hurts. Once you acknowledge the state of your heart you can begin the process of healing it :)

First step always is...

Love yourself!

Then...

Know you are not alone!

I'm right here with you hoping along hopefully working towards a whole heart :))))

  1. Ahhh I so agree with you, I also believe that once we truly forgive others we can also get past hurt...Letting go and forgiveness are keys to happiness.... but the broken heart stage is always difficult and I so admire that you posted this...

  2. Forgiveness is Key! & forgiving OURSELVES! Then LETTING GO...with pure Love!
For me the hurts happened years ago & I thought I had "gotten over it." I kept thinking & hoping that TIME would heal the old brokeness. But, I kept pushing down the pain until finally I realized that I have to address it or it just will keep floating around inside me! It's acknowledging that your hurt in the first place! Then
putting the pieces of your heart back together. Sometimes it's hurt from a loved one, not necessarily the romantic type that can hurt more.

Thanks Tammy for writing in :)
Check back in for future posts as I write out my journey...xo
