The night my Gram died, I remember my sister saying: "How is the Brooklyn Bridge still standing?!?!?"
My Gram WAS Brooklyn. She lived through the Great Depression in BK, was born & raised, had 5 kids, heck she even pronounced Bottle: Bot-Till, like an old time NYer.
When she died, and life went on, it was very confusing.
Like, How could this be Possible?!?
How could life just move forward as if nothing HAD HAPPENED?!?!
"How is the Brooklyn Bridge still standing?!?!?"
?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!
That's what it feels like in Manhattan north of 34th Street. Everyone is walking around like normal, like nothing happened, like it's business as usual.
So weird how a big catastrophe happens & then a day later it's "business as usual"...
Staten Island was hit bad.
Breezy Point...
Long Beach Island...
The countless victims of Hurricane Sandy. Deepest thoughts and concerns go out to everyone who has been affected. This storm has created hardships throughout the entire Northeast.
And continues to...
We still have no power in NYC.
Yet...
Life goes on.
How do we pick up the pieces & live our lives when catastrophic events hit us?!?!
Today, choose HOPE.
H-O-P-E is the only thing that will get us to where we need to go! Hope gets us out of bed. Hope gets us moving. Hope reawakens the dead parts of ourselves.
Choose HOPE in your future.
"How is the Brooklyn Bridge Still Standing?!?"
Bc it's GOTTA BE. "business as usual". through HOPE.
HOPE In what's next will keep you moving forward.
Try it with me:
