Hug Them Through Their Pain

Rescind control to the experts.

My buddy...

Harry is in the hospital for an over night visit :(

I don't know what to do. 

He wouldn't get up to go out to pee this morning. And he has been throwing up for the past couple days. He gets better after going to see the dr's then he gets worse again. 

I feel so helpless. 

He doesn't like to be touched and is cold. Not temperature "cold" but temperament "cold.

This is very unlike Harry. 

Harry is affectionate.goofy.loving.playful. 

I broke down with the nurse in the Oncology dept bc I asked that she love him through his uptightness. 

It's ez to love Harry when he is Harry. 

It's harder to love someone when they are in pain. 

This reminded me of my Gram. 

When she was sick in the hospital, all of her warmth was gone. The challenge was to give her warmth and love on her through her pain. 

I enlisted the help of the nurses and dr's to take care of Harry and give him EXTRA T.L.C...

Bc that's what he needs. 

I can't be there with him but I have to trust that those that are, will give him what he needs. 

It's a very helpless feeling. 

Not being in control. 

But, it's also quite beautiful. 

Bc...it's trusting in others to do the job you wish you could. 

Today, when was the last time someone close to you was in physical pain? Were you able to rescind control and let the experts take over to help aid? Did you hug them through their pain?
