That whenever you adopt, buy, assume responsibility for an animal...a Contract is written up between you.
In return, you promise to be the best owner of said cat, dog, ferret, turtle, fishy, parrot, hamster, bunny...
It is your JOB to take care of them until they die.
It is their JOB to be a pet :)
This Contract is ez!
It can be frustrating when they are young and being trained. But, once they get over that stage, it's east sailing for many years to come.
Until...
They get older.
As pets age, our responsibilities to take care of them increase. That is when the Contract becomes most important.
Bc at the end it is our JOB to be honest with ourselves and our animal when it is "time."
Often, I think about if we as humans had the ability to put Granny to sleep. Would we...before her time?!?
Ironically, that is what is being asked of me now.
(Not by dr's but friends & family)
Harry is okay...but not his 100% happy self. Does that mean that bc he is pissy it's his time to go?

I believe...
That when an animal has fought it's hardest and just doesn't want to fight anymore they will let you know.
Today, is not the day that my Pet Contract expires. But...will we have the courage to do what is expected of us when it is "time."
Have you ever had to make this decision??? Hypothetically...what if someone was contemplating your "time"...would you trust in their decision.
