Much like the Laundry Detergent recipe, I Betsyfied it ;)))
Ezzzzz
-1 cup Borax 20 Mule Team
-1 cup Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda
-1 cup Citric Acid
-1 cup Epsom Salt ***
Combine all of the ingredients together.
Then add
-1 cup of rice.
I use 2 tbsp per wash.
Notes:
Usually, I'll triple the ingredients so I can store a bunch in an old Dishwashing Detergent container.
Tip: Easier transition for those hesitant roommates ;)
This recipe's base is identical to the Homemade Laundry Detergent, minus the Zote Soap.
With 3 new additions:
Disclaimer: the mixture will get hard and need to be broken up at different times. Use a smasher to get your aggressions out!!!
The Citric Acid is to get rid of the cloudy residue on glasses.
Salt provides scrubbing action, and is an abrasive agent to get the grime off.
***No other recipe used Epsom Salt.
I wanted to use Epsom Bc it helps with the absorption of Magnesium into our bodies.
So, while other recipes used Kosher or Rock Salt, I chose to use Epsom. Purposely.
:)
It's been working terrific!
And...
Much healthier than that blue dyed chemicals mixture!
& I Don't miss the cloud of chemical smell when I open the dishwasher.
Experiment with the recipe to get it right for you & your dishwasher.
Today, out with the OLD & in with the NEW!!! Try it. Who knows! You might like it. If not, you can always go back to buying the store bought stuff!
It's been almost 3 months now, & I'm addicted!!!
It's like a fun game I play with myself. Experimenting.
Playing mad scientists.
And...
I look forward to using my dishwasher to see how my dishes turned out!!!
Now, that's priceless ;)
Anyway to trick myself into healthy house work!
Xoxo
