PUNK ROCK SELF-HELP

Soap Operas...

Monday, August 24, 2015

Oh, our American Telenovelas!!!

Did you know how Soap Operas got their name???

Soap companies would endorse them!

Wikipedia:
"The term soap opera originated from such dramas being typically sponsored by soap manufacturers in the past."
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soap_opera

Housewives would be watching their "Stories" and commercials were targeted towards them.

NOW...

We ALL get caught up in ALL this!

Which, is why ALL the DIY Homemade Detergents began for me.

...
I was choosing between Tide and the "NO name" brand detergents.

Out loud I said...

"Tide makes me feel clean."

Huh...

I ignored myself and kept searching for reasons WHY I should spend $10 more for a smaller jug of Tide?!

There aren't ANY ingredients listed so I thought the base ingredients must be the same. Perhaps, it's just fragrances that are patented.

Kept noodling it.

I bought the Tide that day but I felt unclean. And sold.

How could a detergent make me feel more or less clean???

I mean I GET that it's possible physically-maybe the cheaper stuff gives you allergies or somen.

But...
That just isn't the case for me!!!

Both work fine.

Yet, I was convinced Tide made me feeeeeeel clean bc I was told it did.

Brainwashed about my clothe's wash for years!!!

TV is marketed towards the end user. We don't "pay" for the TV shows. So the way we "pay" is watching the commercials.

Commercials=Commercialism

Today, which Brands are must-haves for you? The ones that no matter what, you would pay top dollar!
Do you "spoil" yourself with the more expensive Brand?

Have YOU been Brand Branded?!!?

I have a few that I spoil myself!

I will not go cheap on paper towels.
Bounty works the best. Anytime, I buy the NO name brand (which sometimes happens bc cheap stuff goes on sale!)

I regret it.

Bc there is a difference...for me.

Each of us are different!

Must-have Brands are specific to each person.

Guessing it might kinda Depend on the Soaps we watched ;)
