שָׁנָה טוֹבָה "Shanah Tovah", which, in Hebrew, means "[have a] good year". This is the common greeting on Rosh Hashanah. *
My Jewish experience isn't as well versed in the actual purpose of the Holidays events.
I know...its the Jewish New Year!
Woot, woot!
But...
What I know more...
Is what FOOOD is served!!!
Num num num.
*Burp*
;)
Apple & Honey to symbolize having a sweet New Year.
AND Liver!!!
Don't ask me...Why Liver?!?
Again my Jewish experience is limited to my NYC friends and in-laws.
Whom I LOVE.
I just go along and bring what I'm told!
My friend and beloved Chelsea neighbor Mitchell gave me his Veggie Liver recipe.
Here goes ROSH Veggie Liver!
-1 cup of finely chopped walnuts (NOT raw)
-Large Onion (below)
-1 can of green pees
-3 hard boiled eggs
(1 large onion cooked almost to look brown like mushrooms. Very important to make em well done!)
Combine everything in a large Cuisinart.(I tried my blender at first and it did not work!) Layer it as follows: grounded Walnuts, browned Onions, drained pees, chopped eggs.
Mix it up into a pate.
This recipe is EZ :)
Today, Happy Jewish Year!!!!
Make a wish for yourself this new phase.
My wish is to give to others. Make charity and thoughtfulness a priority for this coming year :)
Xoxo
