I think that's my hardest feat.
I am always looking to give & give & give.
Which sounds admirable...
But, it's incredibly selfish!
When someone compliments me on my outfit for instance, I shut down. And say "Oh no, take it, it's yours. You like my shirt?, do you want it?!?? Take it!"
It's like nothing can land on me Bc I'm not present and receiving.
Simplest example.
Yet profound.
I am not accepting of the gifts being given to me. I smash Em.
And...
I never stop to see the gifts God is giving to me that I should be gratefully receiving.
It's like I don't even SEE it.
That's no good!
Today, Take a compliment. Damn it!
When someone compliments you, respond with a "Thank You."
Easier for some, hard for most.
Look at it like a non-selfish act of gift receiving :)
If someone was giving you a Birthday present you wouldn't SMASH it on the floor! Would you?!?
If the answer is yes...
Well, that's hilarious.
Chances are, you take the Birthday gift in your hands and graciously say "Thank you."
K.
Now, do that with every single Everyday gift.
Ps: Don't be like Ralphie with his Bunny costume. Receive is my one word for 2016 :)
