I was incredibly proud of my legs :)
They were skinny but Strong! The scabs on my legs were my badges of honor that I wore proudly. I would pick my knee scabs to make them look even more Brutal! Ew!!! Lol. These 2 sticks of mine were my Pride and Joy!
Who knew that years later my beautiful positive attitude toward my legs would go away!?!?
How unfortunate and sad....
I caught myself changing in the dressing room and looking down at my legs in DISGUST!!! ugh! "I need to work out. Look at these veins. I miss my muscles. I'm too pale. I need to shave! I'm soo out of shape. I'm too fat...now I'm too skinny!"
Shaming my legs?!?!
Ugh! It is not okay to direct so much hate to my 2 poor little legs! The same ones that thanklessly carried me around ALL day long were under attack... By ME???
Again...
I would like to say this was the first time this happened...but it's not.
My daily shame would begin as I changed in the morning...and end as I changed at night.
!!!STOP!!!
Why am I shaming the Results?!?
The condition my legs are in now is a direct result of my not exercising. Period. I can shame my legs. I can pick out clothes to cover my shame, I can get so angry I could cry or...I could DO something about it.
Your mind is your daily planner & your body is the result of this daily planner.
Your body will show up to all of the schedules your mind has set.
Is it a priority to make it home after work in time for your favorite TV show? Soo...You rushed home and
watched TV instead of going to the gym...at the expense of your body being in healthy shape?!?!
Your body will show you and the world the result of your unhealthy choices.
Is it a priority to do cardio 3x's a week? Do you rearrange your schedule and make stern sacrifices to ensure this happens? Soo...Your body will show you and the world the result of your healthy choices.
Show me your body and you can see where your mind prioritized.
Your current body is a direct result of the choices your mind made months ago.
Do you want those same legs you had when you were younger? Then set your mind up to have them!
What are you unhappy with physically?
Write a list.
Then next to each item write what you are going to do differently to change the results.
-Embrace a sport you like :) yoga :) speed walking while gabbing with your friend :) Spin class! Choose a fitness regimen you enjoy :)
It's time to Feel POWERFUL again!!!
I promise to start first: my goal is to do some sort of cardio 2x's a week for 45 minutes & to go to the gym for weight training 2x's a week.
Today, Don't shame your legs! Send LOVE to those 2 little sticks. Set them up for great success! Go to the gym and turn your legs into the ones you remember and were so proud of.
Most importantly: NO MORE SHAMING YOUR BODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you make up your mind to not change anything in your fitness schedule then please promise me that you will be kind to your body bc it's what's carrying around your Big Old Spirit:)
