PUNK ROCK SELF-HELP

"Stay in your LIGHT."

Wednesday, February 19, 2014

I have been working on this thing. It's minding my own business and owning my own power in one little exercise.

Follow me on this Journey...
Imagine you have a halo above the crown of your head. (Um...we are all Angels, sooo No Duh it's there!) Okay, and this halo is glowing in a golden light. Now imagine that circular golden light beaming from the top of your head into the nights sky! (Kinda like the Freedom tower lights did in NYC.)

Darkness envelopes you suddenly.
Utter black. Standing in front of you is another person you can not see them but you know they are there.

Now, flick on your halo.

Your light begins continually flowing from the top of your head with very hot golden heat lights towards the sky.

The other person stands in darkness.

Step closer.

Now, their halo flicks on.

Their light begins continually flowing from the top of their head with very hot golden heat lights towards the sky.

The only way to truly see another is to stand in your LIGHT while they stand in theirs.

If you bow your head down forward the golden beam of light burns the person you are interacting with.

& If they bow their head down forward their golden beam of light burns you.

If you lean your head back far behind you there is no light on your face and the person you are talking to is in the dark.

& If they lean their head back far behind them there is no light on their face and you are in the dark.

The only positive way to keep yourself in the LIGHT is to stay in your LIGHT.

The only way to keep yourself positive with others, is to ALLOW them to stay in their LIGHT as you stay in your LIGHT.

Don't lean in to overcompensate and enable bc you are actually Burning them with your LIGHT.

Don't lean back and detach bc then your face is in the dark as well as them.

The only positive way to keep yourself in the LIGHT is to stay in your LIGHT.

I have been using this when I find myself chasing desperately after something. I say to myself:
"Stay in your LIGHT Betsy."

Or when I want to detach bc I don't want to feeeel. I quietly remind myself:
"Stay in your LIGHT Betsy."

It has worked uh...mazingly. It forces me to stay in alignment. To be mindful of my enabling, over compensating tendencies, and then when things become too real...my urge to violently detach.

"Stay in your LIGHT."

Today, do you usually find yourself Over or Under compensating?!? It's pretty common for us to do. Hey, we are Only human ;) But, this little phrase will remind you where you stand. And...what you are allowed to do & not allowed to do.

Like it's not my problem to solve other people's problem. As much as I LOVE to help. I can't, bc it costs me something...darkness.

Gotta stay aligned.
In my LIGHT.

Ps: this helps with my 2014 New Years Resolution: POSTURE.

;)
