Are you God?

Feb 6th, 1982 John Larroquette got Sober. 35 years ago to the date. JVL shared his qualification at an AA gathering and here it is all these years later.

I first listened to it a couple of days ago. The date just passed me by. Didn't even notice it was in February. I decided to have another listen earlier and the date jumped out at me!!!

February 6th. 

Odd coincidences. 

I know, I was hearing exactly what I needed to hear at that moment. 

"First thing to do...Fire our minds"...God that is a toughie. 

Ya see, my mind is the ONLY thing that has kept me safe thus far.

My quick mind got me out of trouble as a kid. 

My quick mind made me a successful business woman. 

My quick mind is why I am good at Comedy. 

I cannot FIRE it. 

But...

Maybe it's time to try something different for once. 

Just, maybe. 

What if I put my mind on hold for some time. Let something else take over for a bit. Is that possible? 

Gotta noodle it...

John also said "If there is a God or not who knows. All I know is I AM NOT IT."

Um...

John, that inner voice in my head is not God? So is that just my mind f*cking with me?!?

Hmm...

More to noodle. 

Last thing John said that hit me was, "If you don't handle your sh*t on a daily basis then it's B.S." You are B.S. if you ain't working your steps actively daily, speaking to your Sponsor actively daily, showing up to meetings and doing more than just warming a seat then going to smoke after. 

Work your program. Or you don't have a program and you might as well drink.

Is there a higher power than yourself? 

I can't answer that for you. 

I know for me, there def is one. It's in the Oceans. 

It's in the rooms. 

It's in my laughs. 

Might not look like others Gods. 

Maybe, just maybe, for once that don't matter.
