My fellow Kings & Queens know I have been talking about being STUCK for some time now.
An image came to mind.
I’m in the hallway leading up to the Arena and I’m petrified. Can’t move. Just STUCK.
Now, I have had Stage Fright ON Stage in the past. Like bad. Crippling bad. And I loved myself through it! Woohoo.
I am not scared to get ON stage at all. Thank Goddess! Bc that really used to suck.
I have getting ON the stage fright. Like the leading up to it.
Odd right!?!
I have zero worries about being ON stage. I have done more than my 10,000 hours with improv. I have my confidence and comfort zone where I always feel safe within myself. Again, Thank Goddess!!!
I love writing! Jokes are super duper fun to write! I love having an idea in my brain and translating it to a bunch of strangers so at the end of my set we are Friends. They get to get me in a very specific way. Just adore that part.
I enjoy performing too!!! Like the jolt of “Holy crap am I doing this”, is my favorite part!
So, what gives then?!?
...
This time it’s literally getting my ass to the Open Mics, or shows, or etc...
I have getting ON the stage fright.
Yikes!
It’s good to know exactly what part of the process I am feeling so much resistance to.
But...
Now what?!?!
Ahhhh!!!
Today, Do you have stage fright?!? Do you shut down when talking in front of a group?!? Or do you thrive presenting to strangers?!?
Interesting this part of ourselves that we know and have to turn on or off in certain circumstances.
I would LOVE to talk to a stadium full of people. Like LOVE-LOVE-LOVE!!!
I was made to perform.
Hmm...
Maybe, I just need a wrangler to get my ass to the performances ;)!
Or...
Maybe, just some new friends who are already doing it:)
Goddess that terrifies me equally...making new friends NOW!?!?
When was your last performance?! How did you feel? How did you think you did?!
Xoxo
